What to Expect on Your Twitter Account  

Social media is moving to the forefront of business. When you place your social media Twitter account with Trinity Interactive there are many steps that will be taken to insure that customers notice your business.  

 

Review of Existing Twitter Accounts 

• The appearance of an existing Twitter account is the first thing evaluated. The profile photo should be eye catching and the background should say something about the business. Recommendations for improvements will be made. The default selections should never be used.

• Any current followers and people that are being followed will be reviewed. These lists will be cleaned up and non-active or spam accounts will be deleted with your permission.

• Past tweets are reviewed for content and an established voice.  

New Twitter Accounts 

• We will offer suggestions for a profile photo and background. These two items go a long way towards a professional presence on Twitter.

• A new account needs to begin with offering tweets with useful content. Content has to come before followers. People will not follow an empty account.

• As content is built up, we will begin following people to build up a follower list. Due to the rules of twitter, this has to be done cautiously.  

All Accounts 

• There will be anywhere from 10 to 20 tweets per day on an account. Normally this is done 5 days a week. The time of day and the day is varied to be visible to a variety of people.

• Ideally, content will be related to the business but not all of it should self promoting. We will ask for your input as to the subjects that you would like tweeted. General information about news in your industry is always appropriate. We will do research to find appropriate links and information for content.

• Some of these tweets will be used to interact with followers. This is social media and it is about interacting with others.

• The direct message box will be monitored. Any spam or auto generated messages will be deleted.

• Targeted people will be followed on a regular basis. The number that can be followed is roughly determined by the number of followers on the account. These parameters are set up by Twitter and must be adhered to. Unfortunately, the guidelines are held closely by Twitter and not published. The number of tweets and the amount of interaction is part of the equation. Following too many people quickly can be considered spam and the account can be suspended. The follower count should grow steadily but will require patience.

• People who are followed and do not follow back will be monitored and unfollowed after a determined number of days. It is important to maintain a following to follower ratio that is close to even or no more than 1.5.
